Kentucky Rush Developmental Academy Set to Start in Somerset This Spring….

Lake Cumberland Academy for boys and girls born from August 1, 1999 thru July 31, 2005

Kentucky Rush Soccer Club is pleased to announce plans to bring our professionally organized developmental soccer academy to Somerset this Spring.  The Lake Cumberland Academy will be for boys and girls born from August 1, 1999 thru July 31, 2005 and will be staffed by the clubs professional coaches as well as professional guest coaches from around the state.

Training is set to begin the first week of March and will continue through May.  The academy will provide an opportunity for all children that have any interest in soccer to have exposure to professional coaching in a recreational setting.   The academy will consist of weekly training sessions and five weekend play dates with other soccer clubs throughout the Central Kentucky area. 

The Kentucky Rush Soccer Club promotes the importance of learning to love the game and developing important skills necessary to love the game as they become more competitive.  Too often children are not taught the soccer skills necessary to effectively play at a higher level when they are older.  In many cases, children are often coached by inexperienced coaches with an emphasis on winning before being taught skills need to play.  Many times teams are formed with various aged players and genders that only allow the bigger faster players to succeed while discouraging the younger, less physically developed player to enjoy the game of soccer and learn the real skills needed to play.
