Kentucky Rush Coach Earns Prestigious Coaching License

The coaching staff of the Kentucky Rush Soccer Club is headed by some of the best coaches in the state and nation. One Rush coach, in particular, has worked hard this summer to better himself and is now one of few to hold such an honor.

After pursuing and earning a USSF "A" License through the US Soccer Federation, the highest coaching license offered in America, Coach Paulo Neto crossed the Atlantic Ocean seeking to earn an European coaching license, recognized as a standard for coaching all over the world, offered by the European soccer governing body UEFA (Union of Europeans Football Associations). From June 6th through June 18th, Coach Neto, along with 36 other coaches from different parts of the world, attended the UEFA "B" and "A" License courses in Belfast, Ireland.

Coaches attending the license with Neto included Greg Ryan (University of Michigan Women's Head Coach and former USA Women's National Team Coach) and Keith Gallespi (former Newcastle United, Manchester United, and Irish National Team player) to name a few. After a demanding period of training and assessments, Coach Neto was awarded the "B" License and a partial "A" License badge, which is to be completed during the next 12 months through additional training, online seminars, and written and practical evaluations. The UEFA "A" License is one of the highest coaching licenses offered in the world, and only a small number of coaches in America possess it.

“The UEFA "A" and "B" licenses courses have been an exceptional enriching experience for me as a coach,” said Neto. “This experience has opened my eyes to different dynamics in coaching soccer at the highest level, in every aspect of the game ranging from game management to motivational responsibilities of a coach. The level of the instructors was superb, which included mostly Irish National Teams coaches, as well as the quality of the candidates, which featured five former Ireland and England national team players. Earning these badges has been a personal goal for many years and I'm thrilled to have successfully completed the first stages. I hope to share this experience with my players in the years to come and help them to achieve their full potential.”

Coach Paulo Neto has had a very successful career thus far as the Head Coach at the University of the Cumberlands as well as coach and Director of the Developmental Academy for the Kentucky Rush Soccer Club.  Coach Neto has strived his entire life to be the best he can possibly be in all aspects of his life. Coaching the game of soccer is certainly one of these aspects.

Message from the President of Rush Soccer

Rush Boys Membership, as you buy your new uniform, please consider turning in your old uniform for a $20.00 credit!  It is as simple as this, when the Team Manager distributes your new uniform, bring in your old uniform.  The Team Manager will keep track of which players turned in their used uniform for the $20.00 credit.  The Rush management team will then ship these uniforms to our clubs in Africa.

Membership, each uniform is so important to these kids, each one makes a difference.  This is called our R.E.A.C.H. program, Rush Equipment Assisting CHildren.

You are helping kids feel part of a team…the Rush Soccer Club.

Help those boys and girls, consider donating your old uniform!

Thank you.  Tim Schulz, President & C.E.O. of Rush Soccer.
